Blog Assignment:

I believe that my best blog post is the Krista Ramsey one called Locking into the Magic of Legos.  I put a lot of effort into this bog because I thought that Krista Ramsey is a very important person who writes about voices of things that don’t get heard that she thinks need to be. I think that the quote I found is able to show voice and shows a unique style of writing.   "Legos let them claim the two things adults don't even realize they need: space and silence." Parents think Legos can just take up room or be an annoying toy that hurts when you step on it because they are spread all over the floor. Krista Ramsey wanted to prove that Legos are not just a toy they have a meaning and give kids and parents some space and silence. Her goal is to get messages out in a nice and an easy way for people to understand different types of scenarios.

This column that I chose has elevated diction because of the word claim which is a more elevated word then taken. I think the diction used was able to enhance Ramseys voice. Syntax is where you use punctuation, sentence length, etc. I think that my sentences are medium length with just the right amount of punctuation. I used commas, quotation, and periods mostly, but there may be some other things that I have used. Normally columns have all different lengths of sentences but I decided to keep it all one.

Krista Ramsey

I read the column called Locking into the Magic of Legos. This was about how Legos are just toys for fun, they are actually good for kids to play with.

"Legos let them claim the two things adults don't even realize they need: space and silence."
I chose this quote because it shows this Legos are good for kids and can actually help them for who they are when they grow up. Most people think that they are just annoying and in the way because they hurt when you step on them but, people don't know the Legos actually help. I can tell that the text is elevated diction because of the word claim which is a more elevated word then taken. this was a good column to read because I always thought of Legos as a toy, never anything that could help you.

Questions:
1. How do you find so many different thing to write about?
2. Is it ever hard for you to figure out how to start your column?
3. What made you interested in writing?

Divergent

In  the book divergent, they have competitions against other factions which are like teams and they do things that could kill them or they could get hurt badly. As I was reading this I was thinking to myself, what if our society was like this, nothing would be the same. I cant imagine how different life would be if I were to live like this. I was able to see the movie and I like that I am now able to compare it to the book. Reading this book I think if very meaningful because it helps to remind most people that they have a great live and don't have to live like the people it this society.

The author who wrote Divergent was name Veronica Roth. Veronica said that one day she just had many ideas and was inspired to write a story. She only got about 30 pages into the book and then set it aside because she didn't really like the book. Veronica continued to think about her book that she wanted to write and after 4 years she came across with the idea to have a character named Beatrice or "Trice" for short.
